WSI93 Very fresh, lemon and green apple notes pervade the palate. A lively wine with a bit of texture as well. Lovely smooth finish.
Blending 50:50 Marsanne and Rousanne, this manages much of the weight of a good Saint-Peray with a mineral freshness and acidity that many lack (Saint-Peray was always quite old fashioned and Mark’s is modern without being bland).Saint-PĂ©ray is one of the few white wine appellations in the Northern Rhone and the only one that exclusively cultivates the classic grapes of Marsanne and Rousanne. Together, the two grapes form the material for this beautiful white wine with flattering scent of honeysuckle, pears, white peaches and citrus fruits. On the tongue, the lively fruit acid of the wine and the medium-bodied, slightly creamy structure provide a great collaboration that gives instant drinking pleasure but also an elegance and complexity worth exploring.Â
