Terres Secretes Rosé Cremant de Bourgogne Brut NV WSI94
Terres Secretes Rosé Cremant is a tremendous value and dead-ringer in terms of quality to many fine Pinot Noir-based Champagnes. Crémant de Bourgogne is a particular treat and a smart buy, considering that it is made with the exact same grapes as is fine Champagne, but grown instead on Burgundy’s limestone terroirs (and legendary terroir at that). What’s particularly evocative is the sparklers’ red-wine signature—with each sip you notice classic Pinot aromas of red berries and a light spice, a weighty richness on the tongue combined with a classically dry, lively Champagne personality. Extended aging in bottle too produces a more vinous wine, with a silky, weightier texture and finer bubbles.
A blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, macerated briefly to extract color for this pale pink, delightful and spicy brut sparkling wine. A bit more body and structure makes this a perfect wine to enjoy throughout a meal. Especially wonderful with Asian-inspired dishes with a touch of chili heat. Pale pink, fine bubbles. Aromas of cherries, grapefruit zest, buttered brioche. Layered and refined; flavors of small red berries, citrus, light pepper.
Petit & Bajan ‘Nuit Blanche’ Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne NV WSI94+
Champagne Petit & Bajan is the chiseled jewel of Richard and Véronique Petit. Together, they cultivate two of the greatest terroirs of Champagne: Avize and Verzenay, classified Grand Cru vineyards. They approach the preparations with thoroughness, patience and rigor. Every detail counts… The grapes are picked very ripe, the bottles modeled after an old bottle unearthed in their family cellar in Avize.
Domaine Petit & Bajan crafts “grower” Champagne, a récoltant-manipulant house that grows its own grapes and makes its own wine all on site. This qualitative difference is crucial for those seeking the ultimate in Champagne flavor and character. 100% Chardonnay. A selection of grand cru-rated fruit from the villages of Avize, Oger and Cramant. A delicate bouquet of lemon blossoms opens to a velvety, intense and suave mouthful of pure, racy Chardonnay fruit. A gorgeous wine. ‘Nuit Blanche’ means “white night.”
WSI94+ Deep golden color. Superb fragrant nose, rich apple compote, stewed pear, mineral sea breeze. The palate is full-bodied and lively with almond and hazelnut notes and a crisp mineral core that brightens up the entire palate. Invigorating! And the price is excellent!
