WA92 Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is very pretty on the nose, super floral with notes of blackcurrant bud, violet, bitter chocolate, cedar and classy new oak spices plus loads of red berry sparks. The palate is medium-bodied, lifted, floral and fresh, with a gently chalky texture and long, uplifted finish.
Estate Notes: The 2018 Band of Vintners Cabernet Sauvignon is a lush, approachable and pleasurable wine. What a spectacular vintage. Weather was consistent throughout the growing season and the resulting wines are complex and powerful.
A warm and inviting nose, reminiscent of a summer day in Napa, conjures up notes of grilled meats and Herbs de Provence. This vintage rolls over your palate with succulent flavors of black currant, boysenberry and dark cherry. These rich flavors maintain throughout the whole arc of the wine, transporting the drinker back to the vineyard full of vines laden with ripe Cabernet. A delicate touch of French oak lends a hint of spice and texture to the palate. The wine continues to stretch out and its supple tannins perfectly frame an elegant finish. Blend: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc
Band of Vintners is the outcome of seven wine industry friends who regularly get together to taste wine and talk shop. The collective “insider” knowledge of where the best fruit can be sourced, where the deals can be found, and where favors can be called in when needed, was contagious, and surprised even us. The outcome, is a wine we believe makes a strong case for one of the best QPRs in the Napa Valley, and something we’re proud to share with our friends, family, and neighbors.
