WA96-99 A tank sample, the 2018 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir comes from a block planted to Montrachet and Old Wente clone selections. “Mon Plaisir, as the name suggests, has to give pleasure in the glass,” says winemaker Nick Morlet. Indeed, it struts out of the glass with flashy tropical fruit notes of pineapple upside-down cake, green mango and orange peel with touches of peach blossoms, toasted almonds and pie crust with a waft of crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has beautiful poise with a decadently creamy texture juxtaposed by bold freshness, finishing with epic length and waves of exotic fruits, toast and mineral layers. 975 cases are due to be made.
