2019 Coeur de Terre Pinot Gris McMinnville Willamette Valley

This Pinot Gris greets you on the nose with vibrant brightness, hints of Pink Lady apple and white grapefruit. This refreshing personality follows on the palate which brings to the forefront notes of lemongrass along peach pit stone fruit, teasing of pears, lilac and gardenia. As it keeps opening in the glass, tempting peach skin adds another dimension to a long finish.
Versatile with all kind of food, it is the perfect wine to enjoy at barbecue gatherings, at the beach, or around the table with chicken, white fish or shellfish dishes. This wine begs for any scallop dish with caramelized onions. 
Fruits for this 2019 vintage come from two neighboring estate vineyards, just 2 miles apart down the road: Coeur de Terre Vineyard, and Kings Vineyards. This bottling is focused on capturing the complexity of Pinot Gris fruit grown in the Willamette Valley, and especially in the McMinnville AVA. Both vineyards are sustainably farmed with vines planted on the cooler side to maintain vibrancy and acidity in the wine. The Pinot Gris vines were planted primarily on sedimentary soils.
Coeur de Terre Pinot Gris comes from the McMinnville AVA, within the Willamette Valley. This is an estate grown wine coming from our Coeur de Terre Vineyard home site and King Vineyards, another site established 5 years ago and located 1.5 mile down the road from us. The Coeur de Terre part is off of sedimentary soils and the King’s Vineyard portion is volcanic in origin. 450 cases produced.
