2017 Côtière Merlot McKenzie Mueller Vineyard Carneros

WSI95 JD93 Coming from a site in the cooler Carneros region of Napa Valley and aged 20 months in new French oak, the 2017 Merlot McKenzie Mueller Vineyard reveals a deep ruby/plum hue as well as a great nose of black cherries, red plums, toasted spice, tobacco, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, elegant, nicely textured, and balanced, it’s another terrific wine from this estate.
VIN92 From a site in Carneros, the 2017 Merlot McKenzie Muller Vineyard is full of intrigue. Grilled herbs, licorice and leather notes wrap around a core of dark fruit, all with plenty of supporting structure that makes this a serious wine. Merlot is not often seen in Carneros, so this is a very pleasant surprises.
Estate Notes: A classic Napa Merlot from clay based soils located in the lower and cooler portion of Napa Valley in Los Carneros. Planted in the early 1980s, these older vines have developed deep complexities and wonderful structure.  This wine will age incredibly well, but has early appeal that only Merlot can give you.
