2017 Peirson Meyer Pinot Noir ‘Bateman Vineyard’ Sonoma Coast

VIN90+ The 2017 Pinot Noir Bateman Vineyard is dark and brooding – an impression that is reinforced by tannins that are quite firm in the early going. Cedar, tobacco, game and earthy notes gradually emerge, but the 2017 remains a bit tough and hard to read. Another few years in bottle will help, although the Bateman is likely to always be a bit burly.
