2018 Fess Parker Chardonnay ‘Ashley’s Vineyard’ Santa Rita Hills

VIN94 The 2018 Chardonnay Ashley’s is gorgeous. Bright, floral and lifted, the Ashley’s shows the more restrained side of the Sta. Rita Hills. White flowers, mint, orchard fruit, candied lemon peel, marzipan and light tropical accents give the Ashley’s unreal complexity and nuance. This mid-weight Chardonnay has so much going on. It is without question one of the finest wines I have tasted from Fess Parker.
WE93 Aromas of citrus peel, lime pith and crushed sea shell show on the tightly wound nose of this bottling. The palate is also quite taut, combining chalk and lime peel into a brisk expression, with boundless energy lurking just below the surface.
