Our Sauvignon Blanc has a very unique lineage tied to friendly neighbors and an obscure clone with origins in Italy. One of our favorite wines, Rosemary’s Block Sauvignon Blanc, is viewed by some as the best Sauvignon Blanc made in California. The grapes for this exceptional wine are grown on Dry Stack Vineyard, just 2.5 miles down the mountain from us. When we asked the proprietors of Dry Stack if we could plant a field selection of their coveted block on our Estate Vineyard, we got a very Sonoma answer: “Would be interesting to see what it does at your place.”
We’re happy to report that those vines have produced an absolutely spectacular wine on our site. Maybe it’s the pedigreed vine material originally sourced from Collio, Italy near the Slovenian border. Maybe it’s the special combination of morning fog, afternoon sun, and volcanic soils in our particular corner of the world. Whatever it is, the opulent nose, texture and richness of this wine will remain in your memory long after you’ve finished your glass.
This wine is unfiltered and hazy in bottle. Drink it with confidence, knowing that we’ve kept as much of those great Sauvignon Blanc grapes in your glass as we possibly can. 290 cases.
