2021 Etrusca ‘Natalia’ Rosé

This 2021 Etrusca Natalia Rose’ is a brilliant pink/ Salmon color, the nose offers crushed strawberries and cranberry with a touch of wet stone. The wine presents mouth-watering, bright, and fresh acidity that drives the minerality of the wine and lifts the red berry fruit profiles on the palate. The texture is polished, and the palate shows off a refreshing and delightful lifting acidity that begs for another sip. Notes of citrus and melon follow in a long lasting and pleasant finish.
Cooperage & Aging: Aged in 100% neutral French oak cooperage.. Production: 2 barrels
Vineyards: The 2021 Etrusca Natalia Russian River Valley Rosé is a special limited production wine, inspired by our youngest daughter, Natalia. The wine is culled from the Gamba Estate Vineyard, the Winberrie Knolls Vineyard, and the Fistolera Vineyard, all historic sites found in the Russian River Valley AVA. The wine is comprised of 85% Zinfandel, complemented by 5% Alicante Bouschet, 5% Carignane, and 5% Petite Sirah. Each variety offers a unique contribution to the final blend; an artistic, refreshing, and delicious take on one of our personal favorite wines. We intentionally grow specific vineyard blocks to produce this wonderful and uniquely Provence inspired rose’ wine. The grapes were hand harvested and sorted in the cool of night at the appropriate brix levels to achieve the flavor profile and acidity targeted to produce a fresh, bright, and lively wine. The lot was put through the stabulation method, a technique developed in Provence, where partially clarified juice is held at extremely low temperature for coordinated times/temperatures and stirred anoxically (without oxygen) prior to fermentation to increase texture, enhance fruit, and preserve aromatic extraction. The lot was then fermented slowly and cold. Upon completion, the wine was barreled down to neutral French oak for a period to micro-oxygenate, enhancing texture and for settling prior to bottling.
