2023 Bucklin Red Blend Estate ‘Bambino’ Old Hill Ranch Sonoma Valley

‘Bambino’ red blend is deep purple in color with intense aromatics. The fruit component is bright with strawberry and plum aromas and the spice leans toward cardamom and cinnamon. The flavors tend toward plums, cherries, and lavender. The big tannins indicate the wine will benefit from age.
The Bambino bottling comes from a ten acre plot of vines planted on Old Hill in the late 1990s however Old Hill Ranch was founded in 1851 and was purchased by the stepfather of the current winemaker, Will Bucklin. Fermented with native yeasts with and then aged with a modest amount of new oak.
