The Martinelli family are part of the historical fiber of the Russian River Valley. They have been growing grapes and apples in Sonoma since 1887, planting their first Pinot Noir in 1970. A landmark Russian River Valley producer, Martinelli’s extravagantly rich, beautiful textured Pinot Noirs have deliciously provoked decades of impressive scores and a reputation for excellence.Â
We were fortunate enough to be able to taste through an incredible line up from this producer this week. The Bella Vigna Pinot has become an instant staff favorite and an obvious choice for this weeks featured wine. Incorporating several of the winery’s best vineyards, the 2015 Bella Vigna features predominately fruit from the always highly rated Bondi Ranch vineyard. The single vineyard Pinots from Martinelli retail for upwards of $70 per bottle, making the 2015 Bella Vigna a stunning value at $39.Â
