2013 Barrett & Barrett Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

RP95 A more backward, restrained, but even more concentrated wine is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, showing loads of blackberry fruit, incense, charcoal embers, subtle oak and a nice, earthy, ripe, blackberry and cassis scented-nose and flavors. This should drink well for 25-30 years. Not many bottles of these wines are made from Heidi and Bo Barrett’s vineyard in Calistoga. It is a 4-acre parcel and they produce 300-350 cases from the dry-farmed Cabernet vineyard planted with the To Kalon clone of Cabernet Sauvignon.
