WA92 The 2014 Terra Gratia is a slightly different blend of 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot. For whatever reason, this wine comes across as a slightly denser, more substantial wine, which surprised me when one compares these two vintages in Napa for Bordeaux varieties. There’s much more blueberry and blackberry fruit, hints of charcoal and espresso, and a medium to full-bodied finish. This is a beauty to drink over the next 15 or more years.
Winemaker notes: The 2014 Terra Gratia greets the nose with notes of fresh, ripe black fruit, subtle black licorice, and vanilla oak. On the palate, the wine opens up with a soft attack, layered with vibrant, fruit driven acidity red
plum, and toasted coconut. The soft mid-palate gives way to a finessed, lengthy finish sustained by youthful tannins that ensure ageability.
