2016 Alex Gambal Auxey-Duresse Burgundy

WS90 Spicy and aromatic, offering cherry, floral, sandalwood, earth and spice flavors. Complex and balanced, with a long aftertaste of fruit, vegetal, mineral and spice notes. 

BH87-89 This too is aromatically quite pungent with its nose of wood toast and firm reduction. Otherwise there is more volume and richness to the medium-bodied flavors that also reflect a subtle minerality that continues onto the rustic and youthfully austere finale. Good quality here if you can wait a few years for the tannins to round out.
Estate Notes: This wine has a deep ruby color and purple tinges. The nose reveals scents of very ripe red and black fruit as well as floral scents. On the palate, the tannin is discreet and the wine is well-balanced, delicious and fruity, with lots of fullness and a very elegant finish. This wine will be easy to enjoy when young, but possesses complexity. It will be even better after a few years of aging.
