2016 Amici Cabernet Sauvignon

WA95 Pure Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District is very deep purple-black in color and gives up notes of red and black currants, crushed blackberries, fresh blueberries and plums with hints of chargrill, asphalt, tobacco and oolong tea. The palate is full-bodied and completely laden with opulent black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and finishing with fantastic freshness. 150 cases produced.
JD95 The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain is a classic Spring Mountain wine that needs 4-5 years of bottle age. Cassis, black raspberry, and blueberry fruit notes all give way to more mountainous herbs, bay leaf, and cedar and lead pencil notions with time in the glass. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and tight, this is a serious wine.
Estate Notes:  A classic representation of Spring Mountain, with crushed rock, licorice whip, perfumed violets and fresh tobacco on the nose. The enticing aromatics draw you in, and the intense, lush, rich palate incorporate blackberry, licorice and anise flavors underlain with spearmint and loam. Strong, chalky mountain tannins that are already beginning to soften show the age-ability of this wine, though today it is already inviting and delicious. FERMENTATION AND AGING: 100% stainless steel fermentation.
