WA92-94 The 2017 Cotes du Rhone La Reserve is full-bodied, rich and velvety, easily the equal of many CdPs. It’s also beautifully red fruited and floral, with a stunningly long, vibrant and zesty finish.
Estate Notes: 75% Grenache and 25% Mourvèdre. Estate vines grow on sandy soils, near ‘Guigasse,’ from which the estate harvests fruit for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Reserve blend. Very old-vine Grenache (70 years); younger Mourvèdre (20 years). Hand-harvested. Destemmed; fermented on indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. Aged 90% in older demi-muid (600L) and 10% in clay amphorae for 14 months. Unfined and unfiltered.
