This 100 acre Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyard was planted over the years 2002 to 2005 and is a staple for the Pinot Noir program at wineries such as Kosta Browne, Three Sticks, Walt and Furthermore. Gap’s Crown Vineyard is located on a western hillside of Sonoma Mountain in the town of Penngrove. The vineyard was historically considered part of the Sonoma Coast AVA but is now the most iconic vineyard in the Petaluma Gap AVA which was created in 2017.
This wine has aromas of black cherry and blackberry with a hint of earthiness. The flavors start with bright fruit with the mid and back palate exhibiting riper fruit nicely integrated with barrel oak. The finish is long and lingering with soft fruit and nicely integrated tannins. Alc. 14.7% by volume.
