2017 Keever ‘Inspirado’ Red Blend Napa Valley

WA92 The 2017 Inspirado is composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Medium to deep garnet-purple, it jumps up out of the glass with sit-up-and-beg notes of Morello cherries, boysenberries, preserved plums and wild blueberries plus touches of dried roses, cinnamon stick and yeast extract. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is filled with juicy red and black fruit preserves, with loads of freshness and a grainy texture, finishing with great length and vivacity. 700 cases were made.
Estate Notes: The bright cherry and blueberry notes balanced by a touch of sweet tobacco show the distinctive aromas of the Napa Cabernet and Merlot in the blend, and the sweet earthy note beneath the fruit aromas tells the story of the Petit Verdot. At entry, the texture is full, rich, and seamless, in part due to the Cabernet Franc which adds weight and a rich texture to the blend.  Collectively, this cohesive, very approachable blend captures the complexity of the season as well as of the varietals. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot.  863 cases produced
