Our 2017 Bella Vigna Chardonnay has a lively and expressive nose with aromas of lemon blossom, pear, and a hint of cinnamon. The juicy entry seamlessly leads into the well-focused palate with flavors of golden apple and lemon custard. The lengthy finish has hints of barrel spice, citrus zest, and clean stone.
This wine is a blend of selected single vineyard Chardonnay estate grapes, with a large portion coming from our Dijon clones 76 and 17.
The Chardonnay grapes are picked between 24 and 26 degrees brix to ensure mature ripe fruit flavors. The wine is 100% barrel fermented with wild yeast, resting in 50% new French oak for 10 months before bottling. The wine is neither heat nor cold stabilized, and is un-fined and un-filtered, clarified only by racking before bottling.
