Built for near term appreciation and long term potential, this forward, upfront and approachable style can be enjoyed over the next decade+. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon // 18% Merlot // 2% Petite Sirah.
Powerful and extremely elegant, smooth Cabernet – derived from top notch vineyards in Napa, thyme result of tight relations with growers and an active participation on the viticultural process (it’s in the contracts!).
The growing season was extremely steady with moderate temperatures throughout the year. We had a very even bloom with verasion finishing swiftly, resulting in healthy balanced yields. Lower than normal temperatures late in the season without the threat of rain, allowed for extra hang time with harvest commencing in late September and stretching out over four weeks
2018 Adaptation Cabernet Sauvignon has landed on the Robb Report’s “11 Outstanding Reds From Famed Napa Winemakers That Won’t Break the Bank” list.
“New from The PlumpJack Collection of Wineries, Adaptation comes from winemaker Jeff Owens, whose very first release of Odette garnered 100 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. And all of the above connections yield fruit from vineyards around the valley that rarely makes its way into wines at this price. The inviting nose is balanced between earth and fruit, spice and flowers, with hints of mocha, cedar, vanilla and savory herbs. Velvety tannins carry concentrated blackberry liqueur and juicy plum and cassis, with a kick of orange peel. This one’s punching beyond its weight.”
