JD94+ The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley showed nicely, with a rich, full-bodied style displaying the vibrant, fresher edge of the vintage. Lots of blue and black fruits, scorched earth, licorice, tobacco, and violet notes give way to a beautifully balanced, vibrant, lively red with outstanding purity, a touch of chalky minerality, and a great finish. It’s going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 10-15.
Estate Notes: Dark and inviting in the glass, winemaker Russell Bevan has tamed the beast with this mouth filling Cabernet. A nose of blueberry, espresso, and black currants draws you into the glass, revealing a palate that showcases this wine’s hedonistic core. While dense and focused, this wine’s refined tannins carry its background notes of leather and spice throughout an almost never-ending finish.
Sourced from five of the most sought out areas of Napa Valley it has the density and focus to bring an almost never-ending finish. From Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, Pritchard Hill, and Atlas Peak.
Crafted by Russell Bevan, one of the most sought-after winemakers in California today, Addax is an artisan wine brand led by Brian Kearney and Josh Peeples. Russell Bevan is one of the world’s most acclaimed winemakers; a superstar with critics, colleagues and consumers alike. Wine critics regularly praises his wines, providing correspondingly sky-high scores. Russell’s approach to winemaking was perhaps best summarized by Parker’s own words, “In many respects, the impressively talented visionary Russell Bevan produces wines very much in his own bigger-than-life, boisterous image. With his serious insider knowledge, which gives him access to some great sources that other producers somehow have missed, he seems to magically transform his wines into personality-filled, savory, intensely flavored efforts.”
