JD93 The 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma County is rock-solid, with a big perfume of mulled red and black fruits, spice, candied orange, and flowers all giving way to a medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, balanced Pinot that has plenty of complexity as well as rich, mouthfilling fruit. It’s already terrific, yet I see no reason for it not to evolve for 7-8 years, possibly a decade.
Estate Notes: In taking advantage of 2018’s consistent weather during harvest season, this cuvee is made up of ten distinct harvest passes, across five terroirs. A Pinot Noir endowed with brambly fruit character, grounded by a rich earthiness, which nearly belies its California heritage. An invigorating tickle of acidity lifts these bass notes, tying together an awesome vintage of this wine. A Sonoma County Pinot Noir purely distinct to the hillsides of Sonoma Mountain, and the cool floor of Bennett Valley. 600 cases.
