JD97 The 2018 Pinot Noir sports a medium ruby, plum, almost opaque hue as well as a killer bouquet of ripe black raspberries, redcurrants, roasted herbs, loamy earth, and sandalwood. Rich, almost full-bodied, and beautifully textured, with silky, polished tannins, this is another rock star of a Pinot Noir from Michael Browne that will deliver the goods over the coming 7-8 years, probably longer, although I have no idea why you would delay gratification!
WA94+ The 2018 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley, medium ruby in color, takes time to unfold to aromas of blackberry preserves, dried red and blue flowers, blood orange and fragrant earth. The medium-bodied palate is silky and intense, with (still youthfully coiled) lush black fruits layered with spices, earth and floral accents, a seamless structure and long finish. Give it another 2-3 years in bottle. 2,168 cases were made.
Estate Notes: Deep pomegranate and raspberry aromas, accented with violet and hibiscus flowers, with hints of tangerine peel, vanilla bean, and a touch of cassis. Fresh strawberry with a slight dash of cream. Crisp bing cherry, with a moderate touch of Red Delicious apple skin and all the goodness that it brings. Delicate tannins which ensue and elevate the flavors. The nuances are layered with oolong tea, star anise, pink peppercorn, and freshly baked gingersnap. Rich and round with a satin, velvety texture. Mouthwatering and juicy throughout with fine and delicate tannin, and a resounding finish.
