2018 Walter Scott ‘Cuvee Anne’ Willamette Valley Chardonnay

VIN92 Brilliant straw-gold. Displays aromas of fresh citrus and orchard fruits that are complicated by building mineral, quinine and chamolime accents. Weighty but lively as well, offering vibrant Angou pear, orange pith and nectarine flavors that slowly unfold through the mid-palate. Shows fine definition and mineral lift on the persistent finish, which features lingering honeysuckle and salty brine notes. There’s 40% new oak but you’d never know it. 
WE92 Five vineyards contribute to this cuvée, which offers a clear, focused look at this winery’s style across all its Chardonnays. Razor sharp acidity, zippy and zesty Meyer lemon, grapefruit and green-apple flavors that cut across and through the palate, and a finishing hint of seashell all contribute to a wine that shines well above its price point.
