WSI94+ Dark, rich, hedonistic – the great thing is that it has so much freshness as well, it opens up with massive explosive brambly fruit and then resolves in a concentrated, polished, fresh finish that leaves the palate invigorated!
JD94 Always a richer, more powerful Pinot, the 2019 Pinot Noir Bastard Tongue is no exception and gives up a medium ruby hue as well as a big nose of spiced red and black fruits, cola, forest floor, sassafras, and dried orange. Complex, medium to full-bodied, and textured, it has good acidity and balance, yet there’s no reason to hold off, as it’s drinking beautifully today.
Estate Notes: Pouring a deep-hued magenta, 2019’s BT is nothing short of full-tilt-boogie Pinot Noir. From the jump, a heady swirl of ripe raspberries and succulent blackberries explode from the glass. Textures caress the palate with other-worldly talent as the wine unfurls in a tsunami of red and black fruits. All this comes accompanied by the hallmark notes Bastard Tongue lovers have come to appreciate and expect — white flowers, forest floor, conifer tree, allspice and Oriental plum sauce. 295 cases produced. 100% Pinot Noir. Clones: 83% Swan, 17% 115 Clone.
