2019 Coriolis (Antica Terra) Syrah Willamette Valley

Deep violet. A complex bouquet evokes dark fruit preserves, sandalwood, pepper, candied flowers and spicecake, while cola and smoky mineral nuances build in the background. Fleshy and energetic on the palate, offering densely packed blueberry and violet pastille flavors. Supple and appealingly sweet on the impressively long, floral-driven finish, framed by velvety, steadily building tannins.

During her time in the cellar at SQN Maggie had the opportunity to make wine from a small portion at the top of the White Hawk vineyard. The White Hawk Vineyard is a 60 acre vineyard just outside of Los Alamos. The Lillian block is at the very top of this ancient sand dune. This sandy soil allows the Lillian Syrah to retain precision and finesse. After blending trails for Lillian, the remaining barrels were blended to create Coriolis.
