BH89-91 A much spicier nose features notes of plum, spice and a plethora of pretty floral nuances. The equally sleek, intense and utterly delicious medium weight flavors are not especially dense, but they are well-defined while exhibiting solid length on the youthfully austere and moderately firm finale.
Estate Notes: Aromas of blackberry, light-roast coffee, minerals. Juicy and spicy; minerals show again on the mouth. Fine tannins; long.
AGE OF VINES: 30-50 years WINEMAKING: Hand-harvested. Partially destemmed; fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks on indigenous yeasts. Aged 48% in clay jars and 52% in older French oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
‘Champs Perdrix’ touches Vosne premier cru vineyards to the north, and legendary grand crus La Tâche and Romanée-Conti to the east. Soils here echo the rockiness of La Tâche, with a touch more sand. A juicy, spicy Vosne villages wine with aromas of blackberry, light-roast coffee and plenty of rocky, mineral nuance.
