2019 Frederic Magnien Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru ‘Ruchots’

BH90-93♥ Ripe dark berry aromas combine with cool, pretty and ripe earth, spice and soft floral nuances. The round, seductive and attractively textured flavors possess a plush mid-palate that retains a reasonable sense of precision on the youthfully austere, moderately firm and sneaky long finale. Lovely and very Ruchots.
Magnien selects fruit in ‘Ruchots’ that grows at the top of the slope, bordering grand crus Clos de Tart and Bonnes Mares. Its location in a small valley means cooler winds from the north allow a slower, longer ripening. Fermented on indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks. Aged in older barrels and clay jars. Unfined and unfiltered.
