JD94 From a great vintage for the region, the 2019 Barolo has a deeper, richer style while staying classic Nebbiolo with its elegance and purity. Mulled cherries, rose petals, licorice, and spicy, leathery nuances all define the aromatics, and it’s medium-bodied and silky, with incredible balance.
Estate Notes: The M.A. Monticelli Barolo offers seductive aromas of wild berry, red cherry and raspberry compote followed by hints of dried rose petals, forest brush, tobacco, wood and spice. The palate is soft, supple and framed with beautifully structured tannins. This Barolo exhibits balanced acidity and gorgeous finesse. This wine benefits from decanting and continues to unfold gracefully in the glass. Sourced from 3 Crus: Bussia (Monforte d’Alba) Pugnane (Castiglione Falletto) Panerole (Novello). Cellar aging: 24 months in Slavonian oak casks. Bottles aging: 12 months in bottle before release. 140 cases produced. 14% alcohol.
