WSI93 Ah! This is delicious! After a few years of richer, rounder Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley, this Blanchet brings back a smile to anyone longing for crisp, mineral Sauvignon Blanc!
There is plenty of fleshy fruit, with a keen scent of mandarin skins and lemon tart on the nose and lovely crisp citrus notes on the palate, together with a hint of anise and elderflower. Balanced acidity. This is made for fresh crab and butter sauce!
Aromas of white flowers, lemon curd, incense. Supple, almost creamy, yet still lively; limes, kumquats and grapefruit. A selection of the estate’s oldest vines from a flint-stone plot outside the hamlet of Les Berthiers, near Pouilly-sur-Loire. The vineyard sits on a slope and faces southeast. AGE OF VINES: 80+ years WINEMAKING: Hand-harvested. Pressed full cluster; fermented and aged on fine lees in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Tomato-based fish soup; Thai or Vietnamese cuisine; sushi.
