2021 is 67% Touriga Nacional, 21% Gamay Noir, 10% Tinta Cao, 2% Grenache.
Our Rosé is sourced from two remarkable sites: Luchsinger and St. Amant Vineyards. We began making our Rosé of Touriga Nacional in 2010, sourcing fruit from the Luchsinger Vineyard located at 1400′, west of Kelseyville in the Clear Lake AVA. The vines in this remote site are planted in rocky, alluvial, volcanic soils and are thriving in the warm days and cool nights that define this place. In 2015 we were introduced to another fantastic Touriga Nacional vineyard, St. Amant in Amador County of the Sierra Foothills. St. Amant has been farmed by the Spencer family since 1972 and is planted in sandy granitic loam at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The fruit grown at St. Amant has a vibrant personality with fine tannins and bright acidity which brings energy and lift to the final blend. The fruit from these vineyards was harvested separately, and crushed lightly prior to pressing to release some color. After pressing and overnight settling, the juice was transferred to stainless steel for fermentation with native yeasts. The resulting wines were blended together to harmonize for 4 months prior to bottling in early January.
