2021 Titus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

WSI94+ The 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an exuberant example of the lush wines produced by our Titus Ranch Estate Vineyard. The wine leaps from the glass with notes of candied cherry, crushed raspberries, allspice, and a fresh bay note that lends the wine lift. The palate is open with purity on entry, it’s knit together with beautiful acidity and fine-grained tannins. Chocolate covered blueberry, and polished red fruit lead to a lingering finish filled with crème Brule and roast coffee bean. Enjoy through 2036.
DEC94 An elegant and polished Cabernet Sauvignon with tremendous freshness. Youthful primary notes of candied violets and dark berry fruit lift from the glass nuanced by cedarwood. Medium-bodied with juicy blackberry and black cherry fruit taking a front seat to the baseline of sweet, toasty oak that has a distinct ground espresso-bean and toffee quality to it that will mellow with time. Fine-grained tannins frame ripe blackberry and blueberry fruits, white pepper nuances, and candied violets. Primarily from the Titus Ranch Estate, aged in 50% new French and Hungarian Oak barrels. Includes a 5% splash of Petit Verdot. Titus Vineyards is surrounded by their 16.18ha Ranch Estate Vineyard and winery located at the base of Howell Mountain along the Silverado Trail north of the town of St. Helena. The winery opened its doors in 2015. The Titus family also owns a 4.04ha vineyard on Ehlers Lane, called ‘The Ehlers Lane Family Estate’ a half-mile north of their Ranch vineyard. The winemaker is Stephen Cruzan, and the vineyard manager is Eric Titus. This Cabernet Franc combines grapes from both the estate vineyard and Sugarloaf Vineyard in south Napa.
JD93 The appellation 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon checks in as 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, and smaller portions of Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. It’s another fabulous wine from this estate, offering pure cr me de cassis, classy oak, new leather, and graphite-driven aromas and flavors. With medium to full-bodied richness, plush, integrated tannin, and the vintage’s fresher, focused style, it tastes like it costs three times the price. Drink bottles over the coming decades. Bravo.
JS93 Aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dried raspberries, spices, cedar and bark. Full-bodied with a mellow, fruit-forward character and creamy texture to the tannins. Delicious and smooth with a velvety finish. Better from 2026.
