2021 Titus ‘Imperatus’ Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

TWI97 Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2021 Imperatus Cabernet Sauvignon is a touch shy and subdued to start, opening out to reveal fragrant cassis and violet scents with underlying hints of juicy plums, blueberries, and fertile loam. Full-bodied, intense, and energetic, the palate features abundant floral and mineral nuances with a fine-grained texture, finishing with great tension and length.
JD97 I believe a smaller production release (it’s the first time I’ve tasted it), the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Imperatus sports a dense purple hue as well as a sensational perfume of black raspberries, cassis, spicy oak, new leather, and dried flowers. It’s a deep, rich, full-bodied effort with velvety tannins, a multi-dimensional, layered mouthfeel, and a gorgeous finish. This powerful, concentrated, incredibly compelling Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar and evolve for at least two decades.
Estate Notes: Sourced from the Sugarloaf Vineyard, the Sophomore effort of our Imperatus Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 2021 Imperatus is vibrant and showy from the start with aromas of blueberry, mulberry, espresso, lilac, toasted sage, and black raspberry. The inky palate is generous without heaviness, tension from fresh acidity lead to melted tannins with a pleasant grip. Blue fruits and a pleasant floral note give way to oak spice on the lingering finish. Enjoy 2026-2045.
