Petit & Bajan ‘Promise’ Grand Cru Avize Champagne

WSI93 Aromas of sauteed pears, light spice, lemon curd, red berries, toasted brioche, dried apricots. A vinous wine with wonderful energy and length; excellent acidic balance. PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Smoked fish or aged cow’s cheese; white meat with fresh herbs; rich shellfish.
BLEND: 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir VINEYARDS: Estate vines (Chardonnay) are found on pure chalk soils in Avize; estate vines (Pinot Noir) are found on a mix of chalk and clay in the village of Verzenay. AGE OF VINES: 20-60 years WINEMAKING: Hand-harvested. Pressed and fermented on selected yeasts in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. Malolactic conversion allowed. Base vintage 2013. Dosage 4 g/L. Disgorged July 2021, special release with limited quantity (1,500 bottles total for the US)

Great addition to the line-up – delicate bubbles, a smooth refreshing texture, notes of roasted almonds, white stone fruit, lots of savory elements that keep a defined tension alive throughout. Finishes crisp. The color is a darker shade of gold, indication that there is all ripeness and expression in these grapes.
