Warmer temperatures and sipping on wine make the perfect combination. While summer calls for more al fresco dining, we have curated the ultimate wine set that meets the needs for those warm summer nights. This wine set includes 6 wines that are refreshing, crisp and unique:
Omen Rogue Valley Oregon Pinot Noir
WE90 The wine’s aromatics are a powerful, earthy combination of cranberries, crushed marigold flowers and oregano. Pronounced acidity, a crisp texture and lighter body are the wine’s selling points, along with bowls of bright red cherry and raspberry flavors, and traces of coffee and bacon..
Ca’Vittoria Brut RosĂ© Sparkling Wine
Aromas of small red berries, pink peppercorns. Flavors of wild strawberries and blood orange; citrus-inspired finish. Hand-harvested. Briefly macerated to achieve desired color, then gently pressed and fermented on selected yeasts in temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks. Secondary fermentation in tank (Charmat method); aged in tank for three months. Residual sugar 12 grams/L. 95% Glera, 5% Raboso
Hungry Blonde Chardonnay Carneros Napa Valley
WA90 The 2019 Chardonnay Hungry Blonde comes from the winery’s own Carneros vineyard and includes just 15% new French oak. The result is slightly smoky, with attractive notes of grilled sweet corn and ripe peaches. Full-bodied, round, generous and easy to drink, it delivers touches of buttered toast on the finish. In the context of Napa Valley, it’s a reasonably priced effort with broad appeal.
RAEN The Monarch Challenge Sonoma Coast Rosé
The 2022 Monarch Challenge Rosé is a unique, coastal blend coming from our RAEN Pinot Noir lots, married with a block of beautiful, old vine Grenache. Tones of wild strawberry, stone fruits and damp earth follow. On the palate, the wine is sumptuous, lifted and bright. Flavors of crunchy nectarines, sun-ripened apricot, wet rock and orange pith are all held together with a bright acidity, racy, zesty citrus blossom, and a long- lasting mineral finish.
Altelier Ilaria Napa Valley Chardonnay
WSI93+ JD94 Coming from Coombsville and all barrel fermented in 30% new oak, the 2021 Chardonnay is another gorgeous white from this talented winemaker. Stone fruits, toasted spice, dried herbs, and some mineral notes all emerge on the nose, and it’s medium to full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, with a great finish.
Ladoucette Comte Lafond Sancerre AC
Beautiful crystalline dress, pale gold. The olfactory expression opens immediately on a succession of shades that are constantly renewed. First citrus fruits (orange peel and lemon), then summer fruits (white peach and pear) finally honey notes on a subtle background of peppermint… an excellent complexity that translates richness and elegance. The lively and very frank attack precedes the acidulous roundness of the summer fruits expressed by the nose which are mingled with the refreshing flavors of exotic fruits (lychee, mango). Then, in delicate harmony, the fat and smells of fresh almond and pear are revealed. The finish, based on a stony minerality, is prolonged on notes of very ripe lemon.
